The owners of local wedding boutique Impression Bridal have opened their third area store.
Ihab Elassal and his wife Nagwa Abdelghfour, along with son Yasser Elassal, purchased a 39,000-square-foot building at 4164 Chippewa St., which formerly housed Europa Market.
They bought the building for $235,000, according to Hilliker Corp., which represented the seller, Alem Boric, owner of Europa Market.
The family has since renovated the two-story building, spending $700,000. They opened the store Nov. 11, and donated 100 gowns to military brides as part of their grand opening.
Ihab Elassal and Abdelghfour, both computer scientists, opened their first store in St. Charles six years ago.
Abdelghfour said they were retired for about a year before realizing retirement wasn’t for them.
“It was not fun,” she said. “You really want to have to do something in your life. I like fashion so I decided to go with this one.”
They also own two buildings in St. Charles, 425 Clark St. and 801-803 N. Second St., which house Impression Bridal and Wedding Gallery.
The St. Louis property was built in 1929 and, along with Europa Market, it once served as a shoe factory.
The 13,000-square-foot store has 22 dressing rooms and a whopping 140 chandeliers. The second floor of the building will be converted into retail space in 2015.
